Since I'm generally a big fan of this author, imagine my surprise at myself when I went to,"Oh for God's sake! Just jump to the damned chase and put us all out of this misery! " Probably should have given 2 stars at the most. Maybe even 1. Malicious, manipulative, evil character who was surrounded by easily led, insipid characters, including her protagonist, who knew the truth but kept flip-flopping. Matt Ballard and Liz played a secondary role at best. If this had been a paperback book, I would have thrown it against the wall. Just fast forwarded to the end instead. Only because I wanted to make sure the vicious witch finally got hers. I only recently discovered Joy Ellis, but quickly read all her books. Marshlight is her best yet. A great plot with a superb cast of characters. I sat down to read it last night and didn't put it down until I'd finished.
